On the Fixi platform, reporting an issue relating to the public space couldn’t be any easier. As a local resident, you will subsequently be kept posted of what is being done about the issue you reported.
If you have any questions about reporting an issue or about an issue you reported, check the bottom of this page..
As soon as the local council proceeds to tackle the issue you reported, you can check the current status on Fixi at any time. The Fixi platform also lets the council contact you if they have any questions.

Check to make sure you have completed all the steps correctly. You can only tap ‘next’ if the step has been completed correctly.
Some local councils use a street lighting contractor for all lighting in public spaces. To report an issue with these lights, you have to select the actual street light in question on the map. As soon as you’ve done that, you can send the report.
With Fixi, you decide how you want to report an issue to your local council. If you’d prefer to do it over the phone, because computers aren’t really your thing or because you’d like to explain the situation personally, no problem! The customer service assistant at the local council will register the issue you reported and make sure it is forwarded to the right department.
If you’re a local resident who regularly reports issues to the local council and prefers to use an app for that, Fixi offers you an iOS and Android app that not only lets you report issues, but also gives you an instant overview of any other issues reported in your area.
When creating a report, you will be asked to leave an email address or telephone number. Your telephone number may be very handy for the local council in case they have any additional questions about the issue you’ve reported. The local council will use your email address to keep you posted of what is being done about the issue. This will save the council a lot of time, so that they can devote more time to solving issues reported by local residents.
Needless to say, we abide by the General Data Protection Regulation in processing your personal data. For more information, please see our privacy statement.
The app will let you upload a maximum of 5 photos at the same time. On the website, you can upload as many photos as you want, with a maximum size of 20MB per photo.
There are currently 80 local councils across the Netherlands that use Fixi. Check our interactive map to see exactly which ones. You can also report an issue to a local council that is not shown on our map. Your report will then still be forwarded to the local council, but you will not get the feedback you would get from a Fixi local council.
The activation link is valid for a maximum of 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, you will need a new activation link. Complete the steps again to have a new link sent to you.
When you are signed in on the website, click your name in the top-right corner and then click ‘My settings’. In the app, tap the three dots menu button in the top-right corner of the start screen to access your settings. You can edit your personal details under ‘Personal Information’.
When creating a Fixi account, you can specify what notifications you want to receive and through what channel. If you want to change this at any time, go to ‘My settings’ by tapping the three dots menu button in the top-right corner of the start screen of the app or by clicking your name in the top-right corner on Fixi.nl.
You can report an issue on the Fixi platform without a Fixi account. There are, however, certain benefits to creating an account. With an account, you will not have to enter your details every time you report an issue, for example, and you get a list of all issues you’ve reported.
If you entered your email address when you reported an issue, you will receive status updates by email. These emails include a ‘View reported issue’ button that lets you check the status of your report. If you have a Fixi account, you can check the current status under ‘My reported issues’.
Unfortunately, it can happen that the status of a reported issue stays the same for some time. This can be because the local council has to order parts to fix the issue you reported. For more information, you should get in touch with the local council, because the status of the issue is their responsibility.
If you have reported an issue and it is set to public, while you want it to be private, add a comment to the report asking for it to be removed from the public map or call the local council to ask them to do that. Make sure you have the report number ready to hand.
No, only you and the local council can see the details of the person who reported the issue. Other users will only see the description and status of the issue.
If a report that has been submitted contains privacy-sensitive details, you should contact the local council. They can remove details from the report or remove the report from the public map.
When you start the process of reporting an issue, Fixi will automatically point out similar issues in the area. This way, you will know immediately if the issue has already been reported, including the status of the issue. This will also prevent the local council from receiving duplicate reports of the same issue from different local residents.
Want to respond to an issue reported by someone living in your area? With a Fixi account, you can provide additional information about an issue reported in your area. This is how you, as a community, help each other make your area safer and more beautiful.
Old reports can only be removed by a local council. The status of old reports will generally be ‘Handled’ or ‘Rejected’. Use the filter in ‘My reported issues’ to show a list of active reports only, so that you will no longer see your old reports.
No, this is not possible. You can, however, add a comment to the report or contact the local council to let them know something has changed.
If your question about the Fixi app or website is not answered on this page, our support department will be happy to help! Give them a call between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on working days or email them any time.
NOTE: If you have any questions about what is being done about an issue you reported, contact the local council where you reported the issue.
